So have you received it and if so, would you recommend it? Having left my Leofoto 324 at home a few times due size, thinking I could do with something smaller.
From my user perspective going through quite a few tripods from high-end to garbage, the Heipi has the following pluses and and annoyances:
Pluses:
- Be able to pack to a small, dense package.
- Has the 2-in-1 functional tripod combo. Tripods in this class need an extra step of changing out the center column to get to ground level (not something I want to do in the field).
- Built-in spike feet.
- Good stability
- Flip locks can take less time to operate than twist locks.
Annoyances:
- Rattling hook.
- Angle locks are small and hard to operate. When the legs are fully out, I can't engage the locks on mine to change the angle.
- The hook can't be used without raising the center column.
- Raising and lowering the center column is hard/not smooth.
In short, I'm not 100% happy with the purchase but will continue using it. It has some features that other tripods do not have.
