Entire sky was blown out. I used the AI, pulled up several "SKY" options, moused over till I found this one that was closest to what I recall from 10 years ago (), reduced vibrance on her skin, a slider adjustment, pressed Done. And this is what I got from ON1 and about 5' worth of work.

Hi Anthony, I'm not familiar with ON-1, is that a competitor of Photoshop? Is it an AI based program? The results are excellent for 5 minutes of work.

That is a good sky replacement for sure. But...I wish people would take a little more time post more finished photos. There are some major issues along that roof-line.

Looks good Anthony.....

On One bought Genuine Fractals some years back and I have their up sizing program which is very good. You can upsize files they say up to 800% without much image loss. I have used it to make 36 X 54 inch prints from 18mps files that look amazing. I haven't ried there other software but if it is as good as Genuine Fractals/Resize it should be very good indeed.

Hi Steve, I was never ever good with PS. ON1 Photo Raw for 2023 makes heavy use of artificial intelligence in the post-processing options. Makes me look like I know what I'm doing Even with my lousy eyesight, I'm more able to get what I had seen and felt using it. Since I've sold my heavy Canon and almost all Milvus/Otus gear, I've moved to Olympus so I figured I'd just try out some of the newer PP'g software with AI. Anyway, that's the back story. It has reawakened my interest in taking photos. Thanks for commenting, Steve, and as always, you do doggone good work. Anthony

I agree about the roof line <galenapass> I am just learning the program, and it alleges that those aberrations are fixable. I'll get there and I appreciate you calling attention to it because I wasn't sure since IIRC the roof itself IIRC incorporated some of that coloring.

Understood. I am getting more and more interested in this program. I downloaded a trial copy but it did not have the same functionality as compared with what I saw online in tutorials. Couple of questions: (1) Did you buy the program (no trial version) ; (2) Are you using a Mac? Thanks.

I want to like this program but I still don't get some of its settings and I am reading that some of its new features have bugs. I use PL5 for noise reduction and lens fixes then I pass it to LR classic as a dng and which LR just came out with some very good upgrades. My problem is I have been a Lightroom user since before it was Lightroom and Adobe bought that software to begin Lightroom. I think LR sliders are much more sensitive when I use them than other programs. If Lightroom could get AI sharpening and noise reduction it would be ideal for me. I have an older version of ON1 and I play with it. I play with OM workspace too, which I like. We certainly have a lot of choices that keep getting better. I am not one do do much with a photo other than WB, exposure and contrast settings and limited masking to improve a sky or darken a background for composition, and I rarely crop. I don't do replacements and rarely remove anything like an electrical line, etc. I try to get it right in camera which is by no means an expertise I have but I keep conscious of what is happening while I take photos. I will keep playing with ON1 and DXO and maybe it will eventually click with me.

@galenapass

I have also the trial program and I have had similar experience to what you report relative to the online tutorials. Yes, I am on Monterey 15.6, 5k Retina, 27" from 2017; 32 gb RAM, 8gb video on Radeon Pro 580. Thank you for your reply, and HTH. Anthony

For those of you who have the latest version of LrC; It has a Select Sky/Subject auto masking feature.

Used judiciously, it's capable of excellent work.

If y'all know this old news 'scuse me.

Right. PS and LR have sky replacement, as well as Topaz Mask AI and Luminar to name a few more. The sky replacement really looks like the right mood above, and that is great. But, look along the roof line. There is some work to be done and that is what I find happens in every program I have tried. Nothing is perfect and ultimately you have to put some work into the photo. Any of the programs mentioned can get the photo 70-90% of the way there. Its that last 30 to 10% that I am interested in. Which program makes that work really quick? So far, I like Topaz Mask AI the best but I am open to new suggestions.

Great work brother!
I too am lacking in pp skills. So any program that can replace my deteriorating mental capacity is a plus!
Hope all is well up there!
Take care brother and "BE SAFE out there English"!!!
