For the the first time in many days I could see the mountains through the wildfire smoke so I took my M3 drone up above my house in Lake Stevens WA to capture the horrid yet strangely beautiful sunrise. We have had the driest Oct. on record and are desperately waiting for the first drenching rains of autumn to put out the fires.
Thanks for the comments guys. Rajan, as weirdly beautiful as this is I'll never print it since it would just remind me of this smoky fall. It's been so bad that we have been staying in the house on what should be beautiful fall days.
Hi, Jim. That is a truly beautiful depiction of the layers of mountain peaks in the Cascades. Nice work! I empathize with you on the unfathomable dryness that the Northwest is experiencing right now. I live in north central Idaho and it is the same over here. Everyday I cry for the stressed looking pine trees and pray rain for them. The forecast says we may get rain this weekend. My fingers are crossed. Best regards to you.

Jim - You nailed both the shot and the description, i.e., "horrid yet strangely beautiful". Best wishes for your surgery and recuperation. Hope you NW folks get rain soon. Steve
Beautiful panorama Jim. And with a drone yet. Well done. The weather forecasters keep saying next week. Maybe now, finally, it is next week. Friday. Hope, hope, hope.
