p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Eastern Sierra Fall 2022

Took a few days up to the Bishop, CA area. It clouded up some late 10/9 then was stormy in the higher country 10/10 then settled out bright and sunny again after that.

I'll go back and re-export to get a size that works well with both Pbase and FM.

Lake Sabrina is so low. Colors were really popping in these. Better than when I was there the week before. Bob

Great shots. The colours look fantastic. Have to ask what's that black blob in the sky on the second to last photo? Helicopter or dust bunny? I was out there at the same time and am working through my photos now. Wonder if we crossed paths. I did North Lake on Saturday morning for sunrise and it was a zoo!

I think it's a leaf. Dust devil popped up and was blowing them right at me so I took a quick shot wondering if I'd catch any. There's one on the lower left side and about 2/3 of the way up in the middle, too.
I drove up Sunday, 10/9 and drove up to Lake Sabrina area late afternoon. It was starting to cloud up then. A bit relaxed, I didn't try for any sunrises. Monday I drove up and ate lunch at Lee Vining then up to Conway Summit and the Virginia Lakes area. It got stormy and picked up some rain on the way back to Bishop. But it was starting to settle down and I could see snow in the high country so back up to Sabrina. Tuesday I went up to the Schulman Grove of Bristlecone pines for a while then back to Bishop and the museum at Laws. Drove home Wednesday. I didn't get to either North or South Lake but heard from several people out and around or at dinner that both lakes and the roads to them were spectacular.

Yes, Sabrina was low, had to go out on the dam to avoid the unsightly docks and grounded boats, etc. By Tuesday morning, looking back from the White Mountains, all the "new" snow from Monday was gone.

Gorgeous colors and contrast with just the right amount of saturation.
A really wonderful set to wander through Craig!

Nice shot. I did my first trip last week. Next time if I go, it will be without my kid. She was you have taken enough pictures, let us go to hotel or go eat something.

I really like the last one, such stark raw mountains with a scattering of warm yellow throughout. Nicely seen.

Thank you. This was within a few minutes of 24 hours after the first two shots. This last one was shot from the top of the dam seen in the left corner of the second shot, the next day after a quick storm came through.
