I was debating getting rid of my Sony 100-400GM since I purchased it as a second lens for wildlife but pretty much never use it as such. I do enjoy long lens landscape shots though and thought I'd take her for a spin that way, luckily the light cooperated...

I love silhouette shots like your first two. The picture of the wheat/grass as the foreground is wonderful, too.

I've had the same debate with myself, but for now I'm keeping the lens, since every now and then I get a shot I really love with it. Great set - really like no. 2 in particular!

Thank you! I decided I'm definitely keeping the lens and am inspired to use it more often. Oh and Jim, no, Southern California, just north of Los Angeles but with a typical amount of haze.

A beautiful collection of images! I use my Canon 100-400mm lens a lot in landscape work, just don't like lugging it around on a long hike. The first image is my favorite.
