While looking for elk last week in Benezette I was walking in the rain up the gravel road at the Winslow viewing area when the most amazing rainbow I've ever seen in my life lit up the sky. It looked surreal touching down on both ends in a perfect, vivid arc. The only thing I had with me was my D500 and Sigma 150-600 S. I was searching so frantically to frame some type of shot with that long lens I completely forgot I had my iPhone 11 in my pocket.
The lesson is I need to repurchase that 18-55 AF-P that I sold and always keep it tucked into a pocket just in case. Or I need to start thinking of my phone as a photographic tool. Or maybe I need to refresh my old Sigma by picking up a new 60-600

I never think as my phone as a tool either. Constantly looking for a pen and paper instead of just using notes too. One day.
