Feel free to give critical pointers.

These were from a hike along the trail, yesterday and today. Not a lot moving. Heard more birds than I could see. Found 3 "lifers", for me. However, their photos were at such a distance that they are not great. Huge crop to get large enough in the frame and compose somewhat. Included them anyway. They are the Brown Noddy, Wedgetailed Shearwater, and the Bristle-thighed Curlew.

Really enjoyed your red-breasted cardinal which if I am not mistaken is really a type of tanager?

You had a productive hike to get three lifers.
These shots all look excellent to me.
I am a bit confused about your "Included them anyway".

The seals must know you're there, cause it looks like they gave you a little smile. Great shots overall

Thank you. It might be a tanager. I will have to research that. Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words. Funny thing is (not that I feel wonderful about the posted photos, but they are better than the ones to which I was referring) I did not post the bad/really hugely cropped photos. I thought I did, but just realized that they did not get included. Duh!

I will add them.

These were the photos I was talking about.

I think the Brown Noddy, might actually be a Black Noddy, but either way it was a first for me.

These were all at a significant distance. I am not exactly sure how far, because the rocks and crashing waves were a little disorienting, relative to gauging the distance. Plus, not being familiar with these birds, I am not sure how big they actually are. Suffice it to say, they were tiny in my evf.

The Shearwater, the flying bird, was the closest to me. Even then, it was not a great angle. AF locked on/turned green, but it was a quick shot (Obviously). Not sharp.

Not sure my settings were correct for any of them. I know this is not the critique section, but it doesn't hurt my feelings.

Regardless, they are lifers for me. Doubtful that I will see them again. So, these pics are better than nothing.

The Noddy, sadly, has fishing line, and what looks like a lure, stuck to him. I did not realize that until I was running these photos through the LR. See the last pic.

Lovely work on these !!! Love the last 3 in your first set.
It is a red crested Cardinal

Poor bird in the last shot, looks like fishing line and part of lure or hook .

Thanks, all, for the kind words. Much appreciated. Gives me hope.

Yes, the fishing line and lure was a disappointment. I had not idea it was there until I was home. The Noddy was quite lively, but what I thought was preening was probably his attempts at removing the line and lure. A real bummer.

Definitely makes me far more conscientious about discarded line, etc. I always shove it in my tackle box to throw away when I get home, but I will be even more aware now. It is different when you see it first hand. At least for me.

The crops held up nicely, nothing to be ashamed about on those IMO and a nice way to enjoy an open composition.
You have quickly caught on to this You are getting great results, nice POV's and doing a great job on presentation. Just a quick tip for future shots, keep an eye on the foreground objects that will be out-of-focus as they can quickly be a major distraction to an image and degrade the image if you are unknowingly shooting through them.

Keep it going and keep the images coming as I am enjoying them!
