Nice shots Mike. You got some nice relaxed poses (something I struggled to get with my son) in some beautiful warm light.

That first shot is very natural. My favorite of the set. The lighting played a huge role in the other two. Great job on these. I'm getting back into photography so, you set an example.

Good poses, clean backgrounds. The tones are way too warm though! They're almost all orange.

+1 for the engaging captures ... but, I'm with Paul ^ on the temperature being much.

I get that the key light is warm, but even the fill and shadow is uber-warm. Reminds me of shooting with a Sepia Filter kinda vibe ... and muddies things, stealing away from the subject. As nice as the captures are like this, can't help but wonder if you can raise the bar with some additional (selective) WB adjustment.

Of course, if this is artistic liberty by intent ... carry on.

As an ex-owner of this piece, your captures aren't too good regarding its full potential. Sorry to say.
The bokeh is there, but subject sharpness is not. Once the face is fuzzy it is just meh.

Not sure it this is out of focus or blur or both.

Took a stab at color correction from the jpgs (to satisfy my curiosity) ... it cleans up to bring sharpness / contrast back into the subject, once you remove the muddy WB that steals away from the acutance (by reducing hue contrast). I ran a mask so the BG retained the warmth, and feathered that same warmth onto the subjects leading edge. That said, I think the WB is stealing way more than folks give credence to.

I'm sure working from raw to get the WB in a different place would yield even better results. Always better to work from full raw, than correct / adjust from small jpg. Can post if OP wants to see it.

Just depends on where the OP wants to land it, I reckon.

I also corrected WB to see what it looked like. Once you have the side-by-side, it's quite striking.

Concur.

It was so strikingly different that the feathered mask was used to bridge the diff's ... i.e. best of both worlds (to artistic liberty).
Didn't want to give up that nice warm BG, but couldn't go back to the uber-red subject, either.

As always, S&P to taste, YMMV
