That's good to hear! Still looking forward to the day that lucky North American person gets their "shipping" email and comes to tell us about it.. Hoping that's this week, but we'll see..!

Side note, firmware update for X1D II and 907x to support the new lenses.

One-off reports of cameras arriving this week. That all seems to stem from one or two dealers in California, so I'm not entirely sure if that's more than wishful thinking..

Someone on FB had reported BH as now saying October for the arrival of the cameras to them.. but again, uncorroborated.

It's very odd.. and I think Hasselblad is shooting themselves in the foot on this launch. If you can't provide the product, at least some general information on availability would be helpful. Unless there are larger production issues at play here, like they've had to re-work already produced cameras.

I just have a hard time seeing the planned roll-out scenario where they made the first batch of 50-100 cameras, shipped only to EU / AU regions, and then couldn't provide any additional cameras for more than a month, and say nothing about it.

I don't see a controlled strategy there, I see a manufacturing / quality issue that caught them off-guard.

Ouch. October would not be a good thing. Three weeks prior to launch I bought the X1D for a trip to Banff in mid October. Sold my entire Canon system to pay for it. On the X2D launch day I was still inside the 30-day B&H return window, so I returned it and ordered the X2D when I saw the Sept 15 availability date.

Now I have a rapidly approaching photography centric trip and no camera. Holding out hope here, but just ordered a GFX100S to rent this weekend. I doubt it will change my mind on the X2D since I love the menu & ergonomics of the X1D, but it could.

It's obvious that not many people have receive the X2D since there are none of them being sold at ransom on eBay, very few videos on YouTube, and no mention of them in photo forums like this. Reminds me of when I waited for the Leica Q back in 2015 (I think). Took a year for that to arrive.

Ouch.. I hate when that happens. I had listed my 907x and a few XCD lenses for sale in anticipation of the launch, but eventually pulled them when it looked like we may be in for a long wait.

GFX100s is great. I took it on a week-long sailing cruise through the San Juan islands in Washington state, along with an R5 setup. It has amazing IQ, but was just so big and heavy, I ended up falling back on the R5 for a lot of the longer hikes we did across the various islands. That's one of the reasons I went back to the X system, just a bit more manageable size. For those short hikes or car-based photo opportunities, the GFX 100s is great.

Hiking is exactly what we're going to be doing in Banff, and ironically the Canon system I just sold off was the R5. Plan was to have the Leica Q2 clipped to my backpack strap and pull the X2D out for tripod shots.

I had an X-T2 years ago and really didn't like working with the RAF files, so perhaps I'm going into the GFX100s with that already in mind. Aside from the image quality, I just loved the simplicity of the UI and the ergonomics of the X1D. I will be very surprised if a few days with the Fuji will dislodge that feeling.

The X1D is also the first camera my wife ever held and said "Now this camera I really really like". When I told her the X2D came out but was about $3k more than the X1D she was the one pushing me to order the X2D.

Who am I to argue with my wife?

My XCD 38V was just charged by B&H and is now in "Order in progress" state..

Nothing on the X2D, however.. fingers crossed someone in the warehouse is just doing lenses first.. :P

FWIW, I did order the camera and the lens in two different orders at B&H, one after the other.. Camera was ordered first.

Just checked my order at BH Photo (X2D, 38V, 90V) and just like you, my 38V is now Order in Progress while the X2D and 90V are still in Backorder status.

UPDATE: Just spoke with rep at B&H and she said that while it is still an estimate, the most recent update indicates they're expecting the shipment to arrive by the end of this week.

I've pretty much just adopted the mentality that B&H is always closed on weekends. It's pretty telling that while not being Jewish I know all of the Jewish holidays because of the amount of time I spend looking at B&H's website.

Good signs though, at least something in the Hasselblad X world is moving along!

Did you order before the date shifted from 5-10 days (or whatever the initial short timeframe was) to 35-40 days? I added it to my cart, then work happened and I went back an hour later to find it was beyond 30 days. I saw B&H showing Sept-15 as expected date, so I ordered there. Maybe 2 hrs after launch concluded.
