Not seen this before. Did wonder what was going on when I first saw it on a rhododendron leaf but eventually realised it was moulting.

Fascinating photographs. The cricket almost resembles a shrimp in my minds eye. Not the shrimp you buy in the grocery store. Or maybe a cray fish.
