There was a pianist who regularly wheels his baby grand into the park and plays for a rapt audience.

Nice shot Steve. I would appreciate an image of the piano player to put it into context.

Thanks Steve. Nice capture. He seems somewhat stiff and annoyed. Was he playing Liszt?

He’s an incredible pianist who wheels his steinway baby grand into the park on weekends. He plays classical and new age music like Phillip Glass. He sets a plastic tub next to his piano bench and people respond with 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s. As most street musicians, he struggles and talks about it on social media. Yes, he did seem stressed on this afternoon, but not in the beautiful notes coming from his piano.

This pianist invites guests to lay under the piano as he plays...definitely a quirky character! Love the attention in the first photo and the pianists "attitude" in the second!

He’s quite a showman and a superb pianist. I’m always amazed how he’s able to transport that piano around. He’s got a nice following of people who come to listen to him on weekends. One of the people who make Greenwich Village special.

I've listened to and photographed him on multiple occasions...definitely a gem.

Funny enough, apparently the gentleman stores his piano in the storage/garage area of my colleague's building.

I've often wondered about the transport aspect of what it entails for him to get it there. Never been there, but from Steve's past pics ... things that make you go "hmmm".
