I am super excited finally my number from Olympus waiting list came up and I ordered the lens, expecting delivery sometime next week. So here is my question while I eagerly wait for the delivery

One of the feature everyone talks about the lens is it’s built in TC which also makes it very unique offering across the different formats. But I am curious how much does TC gets used in practice and what’s images are like

Please share your experience and TC images

Sagar--Congrats on your purchase. I am confident you will really like the lens. i have surprised myself by using the built-in TC more than I thought I would. It, of course, provides more reach at little to no degradation in the image, and I also found that it gives me a bit more separation between main subject and background. I'm a hobbyist with eclectic interests in subject selection, so here are a few recent shots using the 150-400 with TC on. Have fun with your new lens!--Frank

Haven’t shot much with it recently (summer), but when I used it in the Spring I often flipped on the TC and never saw any image degradation. It’s really handy and makes the lens a lot more useable under changing conditions, without the hassle of external TCs.

Use it in and out every time I use the lens. For wildlife the lens gets used 95+ percent for images.

After using it since March 2021 I don't think there is another lens I would crave to have. To go from 150-400mm plus out to 500mm gives you the ability to frame subjects resulting in less cropping later.

Hand holding with Pro capture for subjects to leap to action is doable even for 5, 10 minutes at a time.

I'm at the Panatal and have been seeing people with big rigs just like we used to carry around with tripod based. It is just so freeing to swing the 150-400mm lens around and get on subjects very quickly.

Going for walks with the cotton carrier double system can have 2 om-1 bodies with the 40-150 and 150-400mm. Equivalent to 80mm to 1,000mm. Enjoying life and being quick and free to move about getting more photo opportunities.

I'm sure you will come to see the advantage of the lens. I use the built-in extender constantly. Cheers, Patrick

As a user of the lens for the past few months (Thanks Molson!! )I would have to agree the built in TC shows little to no degradation with image quality on the 150-400mm. Whereas with the 300mm you could clearly see a bit with the 1.4x and quite a bit with the 2x. You should have no hesitation with using it whenever necessary. I would estimate at least 40% of my shots have the internal TC enabled. I tried the 150-400 with the external 1.4 and did see some degradation so I mostly shoot without any external TC's unless that much reach is required. Does anyone with the 150-400 use DxO? I'm wondering if the lens is supported and the TC is recognized when activated? Thanks!

It works with DxO PureRAW 2 so I would assume it also works with PhotoLab. Also works with the MC-14 attached to the 150-400 although I don't recall it downloading a separate profile for for the combination. Maybe it did, it was a while ago I first used that combo.

I use the TC all the time. For bird photos, I walk around with the lens at 150 mm. This allows me to get on the subject quickly. I zoom in as needed, then if I need extra reach I flip the lever and add in the TC. It works like a charm.

Yes - I shoot just about everything hand-held with m4/3, except for high-res landscapes (or video).
