Has anyone used/using these combos? please share your experience/feedback.

I currently have OM-1 with 20mm/f1.4 and have been waiting forever for 150-400. That infinite wait got me wondering about Fuji option specially since both the kits are similar in weight/size ballpark. Significantly less price and ready availability of Fuji is another tempting factor

You could get the Olympus 100-400 zoom while you wait; the performance would probably be very close to the Fuji 150-600.

If you can get the 150-400 I think OM Systems is the batter bet. If not, the Fuji appears better but is a more risky decision.

Have you determined if Fuji has equally good AFC and subject detection? I have not looked at all systems but my impression from what I have read is that Nikon, Canon, Sony and Olympus are all in the same ballpark. I am not sure that Fuji is right now?

This is not a very impressive Fuji AFC video, but I don't think this guy is using great lenses.

molson, I had tried it earlier but didn't like extending zoom, so I am really looking for internal zoom lenses. Only option is these two lenses

Tom, I agree. I missed my chance of getting 150-400 I was traveling - literally in air and Olympus reservation system only holds the lens for one day, so I ended up going back in queue. Also savings of $5500 is another reason started tempting me think about Fuji option

Mike, I don't know if Fuji is any better I am guessing it will be lagging behind Olympus. I am actually trying out fuji now, hope will find out soon

So far most of the images that would utilize the new animal eye tracking in the X-H2S image thread are lacking critical focus, if that's any indication.

I was only suggesting it as a temporary fix - until you can get your hands on the stellar 150-400mm f4.5.

Not internal zoom, but I'm tempted to try the Nikon 200-500 f5.6 with a Fringer adapter as an affordable constant aperture alternative.

Since you already have an OM-1 I would pick up a new or used 100-400 while you wait on the 150-400. That will at least get you accustom to the OM-1 for wildlife shooting.

Perhaps rent a XH2s and the 150-600 to shoot alongside the OM-1 and see how they compare. You might find that one combo or the other is more livable for how you shoot. Never know until you try.

I would be interested to hear why you find regarding Fuji.

I am using the 300mm Pro (plus 1.4x) while I wait for the 150-400 to become more available. Except for the versatility of a zoom, the 300 is such a good lens I don't feel like I have been short changed at all, and I am happy to wait. For my shooting I am at the long end all the time anyway so I don't miss having a zoom.

Morris, I see you are using Nikon lenses on Fuji, do they autofocus? How good it is compared to native lenses? Asking. Because I am amazed by your images with Fuji-Nikon setup

Yours are just about the only ones passing muster, which is ironic given the Nikon lenses

I shot next to Morris a couple times this past June, and I can say that his Fuji-Nikon Frankenrig was keeping up very well with the OM-1 + 150-400 combo I was shooting. I was very surprised that an adapted rig like that had such responsive and fast autofocus.

Hi Sugar,

I've been using adapters by Fringer with my X-T3 for about 3 years and they make Canon and Nikon lenses feel like native Fuji lenses. AF and stabilization work and I've do a lot of birds in flight. The adapters:

Canon:
https://www.fringeradapter.com/canon-ef-to-fujifilm-x

Nikon:
https://www.fringeradapter.com/nikon-f-to-fujifilm-x

On my X-H2s the AF speed of the 500 PF is as fast as it is on a Z9. About instant except in special circumstances.

Hi Scott,

There are a few people getting very good results on DPReview's Fuji forum. I'm getting ready to publish a draft of my X-H2s setup for BIF and I suspect once this goes up you will start to see more people succeeding.

Fuji's XF 150-600 focuses fast and accurately on the X-H2s. I tested pre production versions of both about two months ago. The XF 150-600 sharp very well built.

As always, it's that fiddly bit of flesh and bones behind the camera that tends to be the most important variable

Hi Mitesh,

That was a lot of fun and I'm just as impressed by the OM-1 and 150-400mm. The new Fuji body (X-H2s) I'm using is considerably faster than the X-T3 I was using when we shot together. I'm supper happy.

Lets shoot together again some time.
