I keep my 1DIV mostly for posterity, and also because it's a wonderful camera if you're aware of its limitations. One to consider is that it's now "Canon Obsolete", so Canon won't service or supply parts for it and repairs—if not already impossible—will get increasingly hard to get. If you get serious about one of these, at least check the shutter count and make sure it's nowhere near the rated life.
Then, it depends on what you want to shoot. The shutter's quite loud (at release, I remember people posting YouTube videos just to show off the "machine gun" sound), so I avoided using it for most indoor events where it could be disruptive. I feel that it's not very usable above ISO 800, although in a pinch I'd use it up to ISO 3200.
Other than that, it's nice. Tracking BIF is excellent and overall capabilities have been fine for me. It's pretty much a bulletproof camera. I, too, miss the APS-H format, but the pixel densities of the 5DIV I moved to (and now the R5) more than compensate for the sensor format. As noted, its MFA is only capable of 1 correction on zoom lenses, but I never noticed an issue from that as long as I MFA'd properly.
BTW: I used my 1DIV as a loyalty trade-up to a second R5. Canon let me keep the 1DIV camera (which is perfectly functional), but it's "loyalty value" is gone. If you're thinking of doing the same with a 1DIV, check with the owner and verify that it hasn't been used as I did.
