I've occasionally used my 100-400 IS II + 1.4x iii extender to shoot macro and it has worked rather well but its not really "macro". I just used my 50mm IS STM and some extension tubes last week to get truer macro images and now I'm hooked. Going to be taking a lot more macro shots and it's a nice change to my typical bird and wildlife photography.

Critiques are encouraged and appreciated...

Wonderful shots- looks like that damselfly is snacking on another damselfly - not seen that before.

Thank you both. I'm definitely hooked now. I just picked up an RF 100 2.8 to pull double duty, portrait and macro. Will post some pics from it later.

Yep, I saw the two damselflies together and assumed they were mating, but when I got close I realized that one was dead and this one was eating him.
