Great, glad you got one. Yes I do have the RF 400mm, it is my favorite lens that I have ever used. I think you will really like it. It works well with extenders also. I used it both on the R5 and R3.

Cool. I recall you using the 400 with the 2.0. If you think the 2.0 is worthy with this lens. I will consider getting it. Do you still have the EF400 and 600 lenses?

Yes 100% the 2x works with this lens. Here is a recent shot using the 2x on the RF 400mm.

My Flickr has many more using the 2x.

I personally do not have the EF 400mm or EF 600mm now, Amy still owns the EF 400mm III. I just sold my RF 600mm for the RF 800mm f5.6. I only own the RF 400mm, RF 800 f5.6 and the EF 200-400mm for my larger glass. Happy shooting.

One more questions. Did you replace the lens foot and if so which version you use? Does the EFIII version fit the RF? I am looking at the Really Right Stuff, Nature Scape and Kirk replacement foot.

I have the Kirk foot on my RF400, it's the same as for the EF400 and it fits nearly. Even has the Quick Connect mount, although I used it with the RF400 only once (use it on my cameras, the 400DO and 100-500 all the time).

I use the Wimberley AP 600 foot. It is a little longer than the 400mm version which I like better.
