Another vote for color. I had to think about it for a while. I think if it were minus the foreground I would go monochrome, but as is in BW, the left mid side of the frame where the dirt meets the water distracts because they are hard to distinguish in BW.

Revisiting the image, The "face" of the subject is largely in shade. Not that you can ask the rock to turn in, but I bet a photo that features this subject might be more compelling at a different time of day.

Nice image. I like the composition and really like the sky. It is interesting how the sky/clouds right over the center island somewhat mimics the shape of the island itself.

Colour for me as well. I do like parts of the BW but the foreground doesn't stand out and, as mentioned in an earlier reply, the left foreground blends a bit with the water.

Regarding the colour version, it looks like you might have room to increase tonality by adjusting the white point. Perhaps a slight increase in saturation and an increase in the blue channel would further enhance the image. Something to experiment with anyway.

I really enjoy the colours of the 2 further islands, whereas in black and white, they get somewhat lost in the contrast. There is some sort of line drawn between the 2 islands and the subject which is eye catching.

Hey, I can't help it that my American neighboUrs laboUr to spell coloUr correctly! But it helps to have a sense of humoUr about it as it adds flavoUr to life!
