I noticed the GFX 50R trending on Amazon Best Sellers and thought it was a pricing error. But the Fujifilm instant rebates are back with a vengeance and the GFX 50R is going for ~$2,800 this summer.

They must have found a stash of them in a warehouse somewhere... Amazon claims to have 10 in stock, and they only want 3x what B&H sold their last ones for when the camera was discontinued.

Is there much of a use case for the 50R besides tripod landscape work these days? It seems very limiting without IBIS to me.

Well from past Fuji history a massive discount on an older body usually signals a replacement model is in the works. Maybe a 100R is on the horizon.

Fuji Rumors is pretty accurate and I haven't seen anything related to 100r.

I'd wait on that for FR to have something on it. Just saying that usually right before they discontinue a model and replace it with another they do a massive instant rebate on the older model, maybe to clear out inventory. I don't remember them doing it with the 50S though.

The 50R really reminds of my XE1 a lot. I wonder if they'd do something more like the XPro for the 100R. OVF/EVF, IBIS Texas Leica style?

50S inventory was getting pretty scarce by the time the 50S II came out.

I didn't see that deal and yeah BHP says it's discontinued but Adorama has it in stock and at the instant rebate price. And FR says it's not discontinued but part of summer rebates

When I looked at Amazon this morning, they had the 50R at $4499. B&H cleared theirs out at $1500 many months ago. I missed it, too...

As I said before, I dont think there will be a 100R.

The point of the 50R was that it was made a lot cheaper than the 50S.

However the 100S is a lot cheaper made than the 50S already, thus a 100R makes no sense; it just would hardly be even cheaper anymore.

With the 50S II and the 100S, they use the same body for both sensors. Thats pretty much perfecty already.

Its sad, too. I'd love to have a GFX-Pro 100 ! But I dont think that will happen, either.

I think that's the ticket. Using the same body was what allowed the major price drop on this go around of cameras.

Anyone have any experience wit Fuji on open box + rebates? I purchased a lens that was open box before I knew the rebate was available and I'm wondering if it's even worth submitting.
