This beautiful hawk was perched at the entrance of Snake Bight Trail in Everglades National Park. I always bring a speedlight with me for these backlit situations and catchlight as well.

I prefer the more natural processing of the first. Very nice flash work. The Nikon flash system is a delight to use.
