I was walking quickly to get closer to an osprey perched in a tree when my friend signaled me to slow down and be quiet. I stopped and then approached very slowly, not know what they were photographing. I was behind my friend and his wife when I saw the clapper rail in deep grass that was blowing in the wind. Waiting patiently I was able to get some photos of it and it's two or three chicks.

Comments and suggestions welcome,

2) Wow, as loud as a lion!

3) Not the most attractive bird

4) Yet the chicks are something else

5) More attractive than mom and even cute

You don't see many of these in a lifetime.

And I've never seen one with chicks. What a find!
