Here's a Brown-headed Cowbird photographed out my car window in the few minutes I had to try the camera out this evening. Nothing special. ISO800 with the RF600. I am happy with the quality in this situation and I think it's a better image than I would have gotten with the R3 or R5 with 600+1.4. Nothing to write home about, but here's the example I can share. I think this could be a fun body for smaller birds that aren't super close.

Decent photo, good sharpness, not tack sharp, was the car moving 😂
Seriously, not bad with a 1.4 tele converter involved. If math is right, that gave you 1344mm equivalent on APS. (600x1.6)x1.4 =1344mm. I think, math is hard.

At that focal length, i would HAVE to rely on a very sturdy tripod, IS be damned.

Mine landed at 7:20 PM, UPS pains. I am going out in the AM, two lens test, RF 70-200 f4 for birds and people, RF 24-70mm f2.8 for portraits.

I/we shall see, enjoying setup process. Using Bryan’s at TDP 49 step setup, though i will do back button focus (habit).

Got my kit via UPS 6:30pm last night was going to unbox but got a text from owner of Berger Bros Camera he wants me to do an unboxing video for him so that will delay but hopefully I'll have some images to post this afternoon was going to do ISO test with RF 100-500 and RF 100-400

I almost thought I had an unboxing series coming up - but alas, no such luck. Backordered at this time.

It was interesting - yesterday morning, a FedEx truck pulled up with a box from B&H that was roughly the size of a camera box. I was briefly excited until he handed it to me and it was the weight of 2 feathers.

, they sent my 2 SD cards in that box. Well packed, and had me fooled ever so briefly.

Ok got the R7 and Kit 18-150 lens partial setup these are the first 2 images of our scruffy scruffy Scotties Oliver and Finn with the kit 18-150 lens we are having a heat wave here in Seattle so super harsh lighting Iso was only 250 and focal length 40mm. No editing other than Adobe portrait profile no noise reduction but then again shouldn't have to at ISO 250 hopefully later today I'll have some meaningful test images One thing I noticed already wow the buffer really fills up fast real fast shooting with Pro Grade 256GB V60 II cards

Better examples than first image on this thread.

Re buffer filling, lighten up on the shutter button and/or shoot in sRAW. Supposedly you will notice no degradation with sRAW images.

Yes mine are 100%x100% resized to 2048 on the long side at saved for web as a jpeg for posting again no editing

Here are two shots from the Cincinnati Zoo today. Both shot with the RF 100-500. The Gibbon was shot at ISO1600, 1/500, f/7.1, and the Inca Tern at ISO 1600, 1/125, f/7.1. Both went through some minor adjustments in Lightroom, Topaz noise reduction (the Tern came out with a funky background, will need to redo it), and then minor sharpening again back in Lightroom. The tern was indoors in poor light. The Gibbon was in the shade in very late morning sun.
