Thanks- no flash just natural light - it is a large beetle max mag of the lens was 1:1 FF.

Must look out for one. Sadly our garden is bereft of a lot of the usual insects. Quite a lot of honey bees, earlier bumble bees are scarce, no aphids, or their ant farmers, or hoverflies.
Typical law of attraction. You were no doubt really thinking how wonderful it would be to have a chafer beetle in your garden and languish there for a while. Nice images Brian and your Chafer Beetle looks quite happy to be there. No doubt it will relay your hospitality to all it's friends. Prepare to see more bugs like it! As a good friend of mine says, "Thoughts become things." Think more about other such guests you would like to have in your garden and how wonderful you will feel when they are there.
