I'm from the desert, which kinda means wildlife is easy-ish to find - at the water sources. But around here, there's water everywhere.

So...

Any recommendations on good birding / wildlife areas near Traverse City?

Thanks.

You're in the wrong place. Try the Nature & Wildlife forum.

This IS Nature and Wildlife?

Well OK...I also cross-posted to Landscape - figured folks there might know some good places as well.

It is a little hard to find, but here is a link to the rules for the landscape forum: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/landscape.htm

It is exclusively for posting and then discussing landscape photographs. If you can remove the cross-posting to Landscape, you should probably do that.

On the other hand, it would not be inappropriate to cross-post to this group that focuses on locations: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/board/51

Hey W, it’s not a destination for birding at this time of year though you should be able to find a variety of passerines from cuckoos to vireos at the Traverse commons and some shorebirds along the lakes. Perhaps you’ll see an osprey or eagle. It doesn’t compare to CA though here’s a link of resources: https://grandtraverseaudubon.org/birding-places-2/birding-places/.

Go find the Kirkland's Warblers. Plenty of spots not far from TC. Immature jack pines are the typical areas where they breed. It's one one rarest warblers in North America

The correct forum is Trip Location Advice & Meet-ups Forum, that is why it is called that.
