While up photographing warblers I was made aware of some Yellow Headed Blackbirds nearby. I have heard that they showed up and got conformation they were spotted so I headed over to where they were seen and lucky me they were easy access other than being in some taller grasses with lots of spend dandelions!

The male was spotted quickly, soon after the female and then much to our surprise mating took place right in front of us. They are really attractive birds or at least a very nice deviation from our common RWBB's. So here are a few images from that day to share and special thanks to my informant Sean

Very nice, Karl. Though I have to say that given that he's "gettin' busy" in the third image, he should have a smile on his face rather than the "angry eyes"

Very cool shots Karl !! I have chased these birds at least 5-6 times and never even got a glimpse. Glad you had good luck. Excellent images.
