Very nice. Love grebes. I believe these are Western Grebes, though. Clark's have the eye surrounded by white.

These are excellent photos of Western Grebes.

Although most people use the white around the eye criteria, Clark's Grebes can seasonally have some black below the eye (not as much as shown in these photos). The most reliable ID method is the color of the bill. These have a greenish yellow color which is indicative of Western Grebes. Clark's Grebes have orange bills.

Here in SoCal the chicks are maturing. Maybe further north in Idaho you will see them later. I look forward to seeing more of your Grebe photos. Grebes are great photo subjects.

You guys are correct!
This was my previous post regarding Clark's Grebes and their bills are orange. I actually said "At first, I thought these were Western Grebes but they turned out to be Clark's."

This time, without looking carefully, I thought they were also Clark's Grebes since I took all these Grebes at the same spot. Why oh why they look so much the same and live in the same neighborhood
