p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Swallows in flight - A1 & Z9

Handicapped Z9/500PF - forgot to turn off the focus limiter (duh) so nothing closer than 8 meters - ah well, next time.

Weird angled vertical stripes/banding in the background though - perhaps GOD is starting to use LEDs now too (?)

There are very nice images. The A1 images appear a bit sharper. If this is meant to be a comparison, please provide the following:
- EXIF data in files
- Original uncropped images with each crop
- Out of camera files so that processing can be eliminated

Thank you,

Morris

Don't try comparing them as settings were different and lighting conditions were changing minute by minute. In general the Z9 seemed to nail the focus and images appear at least as sharp as the a1 images. Motion blur causes a lot of problems with these birds and 1/3200 is a bit slow but light was patchy at times.

Thank you for explaining. I've been photographing them for years and understand the chalanges

Great set especially with those illusive swallows, I bet your panning skills have improved

I don't actually think there is much or any sharpness differences in these great images. However, the Sony ones definitely have more aggressive sharpening applied. You can tell because it does not appear there is any additional detail in the Sony ones, just more defined edges which has clearly been applied in post.

Nice shots.
