NX studio is the replacement for all those. It will be with us for a relatively long time. It is their latest.

Should I remove View NX-i & Capture NX-D before installing NX Studio?
Can I continue using Nikon Transfer 2?

i believe they will be automatically removed (from what i remember when i did it awhile back) when Studio is installed as Studio integrates them.

Nikon Transfer 2 will remain for continued use and will be updated as required.

I took the thread to be a reminder to D/L the deprecated software for possible future use as it will no longer be available, not necessarily to replace it with the NX studio.

I just installed NX-D 1.65 and then the NX Studio without any incident except that the NX Studio installer wanted to connect to the internet for some video components, but that can be declined. You don’t need to remove the NX-D if you wanted both for some reason.

Got a notification earlier today from Nikon that Studio was available. I've already downloaded it, but have only browsed its functions.

Unfortunately it still has that view limitation in which only manual 100% and 150%, etc. scaling are viable options. Auto does not pick up my system setting of 125%.

I tried to put NX-D in with the newer software loaded. It said newer software already installed and closed.

I keep The latest and greatest installed as a in case all else fails option.

I was curious the other day and started the process, but nope.... I turned around and got out of there when the warning came up that my ViewNX-i app would be replaced. Someday yes, not now.

At least not if I can help it.

Duh... I did not even think of that. Do you mean move View NX-i onto a separate drive.?

Just remember that NX Studio is an integration of view and capture as one piece of software.

I downloaded it. Verdict: I like that it opens in 100% and the image can be - or + much quicker (than ViewNXi). So far, looks like a legit improvement.

I am assuming that we can download without installing, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep the installation files handy. I have a little laptop I travel with, which I don't want to clog up with too much, but do have a copy of Capture NX-d without the latest features, so I guess I'd better download the new one soon.

yes it can. actually as NX Studio being around for a few months now i personally see no particular need/want for its previous version as things progress the older versions will not be revised or updated.

My only reservation is disk space on my traveling computer. I don't really need all the Studio features, but I do want a couple of Raw processing features like exposure comp and white balance and the like.

Does anyone have a reliable estimate of disk space used respectively between Studio and Capture alone?

how big or small is your HD? i am running Win 11 on a 3 year old HP Spectre
i have a 512GB (475GB after formatting) and i have quite a few programs on it using up 19.7GB of space at this time. no pics are left on the laptop but can be used as additional space just in case. all on external drives normally or ones in work.

Nikon Msg Center 33.4 removable
Nikon Pic Control Utility 80.9MB

Capture NX-D 76.2MB

I installed the new NX Studio software and the Program Files folder is only 135MB. Maybe there are some other files somewhere, but overall it is insigificant.
You might want to upgrade the SSD if space is an issue.
My little 2.2 lbs. travel laptop now has 2x4TB TLC NVMe SSDs, but just a small C: partition on one drive. Originally it had an 512GB SSD that I'm now using for another system.
