What about warranty? Will Megadap replace it with a new one?

I emailed them yesterday, still awaiting a reply. I will report back with how they handle the situation

They have responded, I have to mail it back at my cost for a replacement. They asked me for a tracking number, hopefully they cross ship for me at least.

The adapter arrived to them and they immediately shipped me a new one fedex express. It hasn't arrived yet though. So for pro use, I would buy an extra for backup just in case

I would have two in any case if that is a critical piece of equipment.
I typically travel with two lens mount adapters and two 1.4x teleconverters also.
I'm not a photographer, so everything is an expense. That is typically 4 figures per day to be on site.

I've experienced a random unexplained failure this evening. Long story short, been using a 50gm/sigma 35 1.2/sigma 105 macro frequently without issue. Tonight I rented a 135gm, worked great for a few hours, turned the camera off, went to a rock show, came home and my adapter is now suddenly a "dumb" E to Z adapter that will not do anything. Yikes, sounds like it's not worth buying if this is a risk. Are your lenses and camera still working after use?

Update:
Contacted Megadap about mounting issue with Tamron 35-150. They asked me to provide them a video on how I mounted the lens and so forth. After reviewing my video, they told me to return the adapter for them to test (free shipping back to Megadap). After a week they replied and said they will send a new adapter. They also provided a video showing the adapter mounted onto Tamron 35-150. I should be getting the new adapter in a couple of weeks. Will post on the outcome.

Unrelated but what kind of birds are those in the first photo? Those red eyes are pretty funky and I'm wondering why their young do not have them as well?

For now the adapter seems to work with all my E mount lenses. Only annoying thing is EVF goes out of focus when zoom ring is turned. User has to reacquire focus. Only happens with zoom lenses (24-105 G, 200-600 G, Sigma 14-24 DG DN). Was told Megadap is aware of it.

Hi I think these are mixed Clark/Western Grebes. Right the babies do not have red eyes. I think they don’t turn until adulthood.

welp...so my ETZ21 stopped working today. I was using it with the 50/1.2 then i swapped with a Z lens (24-200) when i swapped the lens back in, the aperture is no longer registering and it is identified as a MF lens (tried the adapter with my other FE lenses and they don't work anymore either). I will be reaching out to them to have it replaced...hopefully they will also not have me pay for shipping.

This is the exact same thing that happened to me!! Does yours not pop up on a PC anymore as well? Hopefully it was just an isolated batch of them with bad hardware or something and the new ones don’t have the same rando failures. I really like the adapter otherwise.

yes, i actually saw your post and tried the same thing: it doesn't get recognized by the computer anymore...to be clear, though...that USB connection was janky and fiddly AF...it took me a while to have it recognized weeks ago to update the firmware...i spent about 20 minutes this time and it won't get recognized at all...so it is dead.

same here, i like the adapter...i have 4 Sony lenses now because the adapter works so well with the Z9. yeah hopefully this is a bad batch thing and doesn't turn out to be a brittle design.

I took a pic before I sent it off. I noticed while I was boxing it up it looks like there was an internal meltdown of sorts. I don't think these bubbles were there before it quit. I could be wrong though as I wasn't really looking for a failure point.

Megadap responded this morning and gave me a shipping address without any further questions and that to email them the tracking information. i just mailed it via US post office about half an hour ago...it is not cheap...
