Perhaps you missed the part where I stated that the camera sat on the counter for 3 days untouched the camera is turned off. I might just reinstall the megadap ETZ21 firmware again and do the test again (sit on counter, 3 days untouched, camera IBIS on).

However I also tested what happens when the camera IBIS is turned off. After 3 days on the counter the camera battery is still fully charged.

Can you double check if your Z6 IBIS is actually set to "On"? ....and if possible can you let it sit untouched for at least 3 days?

At the time I write this, it has been 2.5 days (about 60 hours) that the Z6 has been sitting turned off with IBIS enabled in camera with the ETZ21 + Sigma 35mm 1.2 lens attached. The battery indicator is what I had left it at 60 hours ago (battery indicator indicates about 80-90% full).

Thanks for doing the test. Something is definitely wrong with mines.

Tried the Sony 70-200 GM ii on my z9 and after some initial awkwardness and radio silence, it started working.
Maybe I need RTFM, but I have to use the aperture ring on the lens to change aperture, but that's alright.
Except, the manual is in Simplified Chinese, so I have to enlist my gf's help to read it.

The 70-200mm f/2.8 GM ii is one of the sharpest lenses I've ever used, so it's going to be used quite a lot on the z9.
Thank you Megadap.. hope you don't fry all my gear though.

you shouldn't need to; it should just work like a native lens...although i don't have the 70-200...have you tried with other lenses? at least with the 24, 35, and 135 it works fine on the Z9 without having the need to use the lens aperture ring to change aperture.

Uh oh, I should not have replied so fast... I woke up this morning and turned on my camera, it has now been over 3 days. With the adapter and sigma lens attached, indeed, it has lost another battery bar level. So it has dropped from about 90% to about 25-35% in just over 3 days.
I think there must be a battery drain issue. I left the camera with the same settings (IBIS is enabled, camera turned off).

Megadap is aware of the issue. They claim that their firmware, V2.0, solved the problem of consumption of battery when the camera is off. But it looks like they still got work to do.

BTW Megadap newest firmware is now V2.1....I wasn't aware of that until today, Saturday 7/30.

You can download the new firmware here...if you haven't done so already.

Tested a loaner Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 e-mount with Z9 using Megadap ETZ21.

Finally got some time today and unfortunately it was difficult mounting the lens to the adaptor. The adaptor fits and made a click sound when punted onto Z9. So that was all good, but i didn’t hear any click sound when mounted the Tamron. I twisted and turned the lens and tightly mounted but without a click sound to lock down the lens. I’m sure it will easily rotate and falls off the mount. I also check to see if the lens was functional with Z9 but no luck. No AF and not even manual focus works. I don’t have other E-mount lens to test if it was a bad batch or not.

Did anyone had issues with Tamron 35-150 on Z9? I may have to sell my new Tamron 35-150 if Megadap doesn’t work.

try to mount the adapter on the lens first. there won't always be necessarily a loud satisfying click but the adapter should at least latch on the lens mount...i.e., you shouldn't be able to remove the lens from the adapter without pushing the adapter's release button.

Definitely did both options but without any success. Not sure if i got a bad version.

Unfortunately i only have Sony lenses that didn't give me issues. it's probably worth mentioning that there is a video post from one of our FM residents AJay that Tamron lenses are more difficult to mount on the adapter.

Took me a while to very carefully and slowly mount the ETZ21 on my Sony 600mm f/4 GM lens.
Someone here had warned me that when he tried this combo, one of the pins of the adapter came out, and
that he had to get a replacement. So I was especially careful.

It was very tight, so I tried it several times - never forcing it, but eventually coaxed it to click into place.
I do not have any non-Sony e-mount lenses either, or I'd have tried it and let you know.

Has anyone tried the Tamron 17-28 with the ETZ21? Seem like a super nice lightweight hiking UWA that also goes to f2.8 for night sky work.

I'd likely only use this one lens on the adapter so once it was on it would just live there. Similar to my 70-200 f4 and the ftz. I am fine with adapted lenses but moving the adapter between lenses is a bit annoying in the field.

I used the adapter with the Sony 14mm without issue on my Z5, the Z9, I had to wiggle it a bit to get it click into place.

At present I use a dumb adapter with the Voigtlander 110mm macro and Nikon Z7. Other than exif data would there be any other operational gain in purchasing the Megadap ETZ21?
Thanks in advance for any contributions.

Does IBIS work with your "dumb adapter"?
It if does, I see no reason to upgrade to ETZ21, unless you plan to buy Sony FE lenses not avalable in Z mount (e.g. 24/1.4, 135/1.8, 200-600).

Its supposed to provide 3 axis stabilization by manual inputting the focal length and maximum aperture of the lens.
I was wondering whether the use of this adapter would provide more focus aid. The use of manual focus on an AF lens enables the focus point to change colour and also provides the green dot and arrows in the bottom left hand corner on the Z7. I have a Zeiss ZF2 lens which provides the dot and arrows on a D500 but when adapted to the Z7 via the FTZ this function and the change of focus point colour is missing. I am interested in whether the Megadap adapter with the Voigtlander would enable these functions on the Z7.

Appreciate all the input here!

Wondering if I should have any issues with the Sigma ART 50 one eMount and a Z7? Since I use Sony cameras too, I'd love to have this lens carry over. Thx!

Just a heads up to anyone potentially relying on this thing in a professional environment, don't!

I've experienced a random unexplained failure this evening. Long story short, been using a 50gm/sigma 35 1.2/sigma 105 macro frequently without issue. Tonight I rented a 135gm, worked great for a few hours, turned the camera off, went to a rock show, came home and my adapter is now suddenly a "dumb" E to Z adapter that will not do anything. Not even manual focus. It will not register on my PC with the supplied cable either. All pins are intact with no physical signs of malfunction. It was a fun toy while it lasted.
