Yeah, I screwed up. Crop Factor is 25, so it comes out to 490 x 326

Three months later and not a single peep from canonrumors.

For me personally it would be nice if they announced it early even if it is not available for few more months. I am still on the original R and hoping for this high megapixel body so I didn't buy the R5.

At 100+ megapixels at 24mm x 36mm image sensor dimension expect the ISO range to be 100-6400 like the

- 2008 5D Mark II at 21+ megapixels

- 2015 5Ds R at 51+ megapixels

Odds are AA filter may still be present on the 100+ megapixel EOS R5s

That body will need to be priced below the $6k 2021 FujiFILM GFX 100s 100+ megapixel MF body

ISO 100-6400 and 5fps is totally fine with me. Personally for me 100mpix only makes sense for landscapes (often on tripod or bright day) and images of large groups where is it nice to clearly see expression of each person on a big print.
It currently live in the middle of the Swiss Alps and I will not live here for too long, so I wouldn't mind to have landscapes from here in the top quality I can get (I have GFX 50R for fun stuff, but I find the Canon FF just much more practical).

I am hoping for: 5fps, decent ISO to 6400, body in R5 style, under $5k. Essentially take a R5 and stick a higher res sensor in. I don't need 100MP, 80MP is plenty.

It is also the cheapest way to get hardware 100+ megapixel. This was the business case for the 2015 5Ds R 51+ mgapixel back then.

The 5Ds R is now $1.5k... the cheapest way to get that megapixel in hardware.

What would be great is if any of the big 3 adding the option to capture 16 bit RAW files even at the expense of some megapixels. One of the major things separating medium format and FF.

I really wished Canon made provisions for RF L lenses to accept 0.79x crop MF image sensors so we'd be enjoying 100+ MP MF bodies in the vein of the 2021 FujiFILM GFX 100s.

So imagine R5 or R3 AF system but medium format.

The only medium format about this Canon camera would be the image sensor.

From the original rumor posted on 26May22, rumor rated as CR3:
"We have been told that Canon is indeed going to release a full-frame RF mount camera with 100+ megapixels some time in the first half of 2023. The announcement could come later in 2022."

Lately the rumor sites get information only about 2 weeks before it is announced. I doubt we will see a high megapixel camera in 2023.

Rumors often fail to materialize. Sometimes people blab about a prototype, which is mistaken for a body that will be produced and sold. The D400 and the 1Ds IV are examples.

At this point — and, yes, I understand that this is a resurrected zombie thread — there have been so many rumors over such a long period of time concerning a high MP Canon body that I've almost stopped paying attention to them. ;-)
