I just got a M1 MacBook Pro and realized that I can't preview ARW files with preview app (pressing spacebar). My old 2019 Intel MacBook Pro was able to show previews although it's slow.
Does anyone know what I need to do to enable the preview of ARW files? Thank you in advance.

I believe there's an update Apple will prompt you to install shortly that fixes this. If you're not seeing it, go to System Preferences -> Software Update and see if that triggers it.

That procedure works fine on my MBP with M1 max running Monterey 12.3.1. I don't recall installing any Sony software but there may be some previous version on my laptop.

Did you upgrade cameras as well? The OS needs to be updated to support each camera’s version of Raw and I don’t think Apple has added support for the A7 IV yet. I could be wrong about that since I passed on the four and haven’t looked into it. Younjulius wrote:
