The Z 35mm and 85mm for about $500
Z 24-70 2.8s for $1,500 and the Z 70-200mm for $1800

This is the second or third time they've had prices drop into these ranges in the last six months. Hopefully a sign of more affordability to come.

That D5 is really tempting since I want another low mp camera to replace the D4 and have a better AF sytem than what's in the D4. The D5 as bad as the say? People keep complaining about the low iso on it.

Somebody told me about the $2000 D5 deal while I was in an Uber going to a shoot and I assumed it was just a glitch. Then I got back to my office and saw it was legit. I put in my cart, tried to get some people to talk me out of it...they tried hard, I checked my bank account and still bought the thing. I'm probably a dummy for buying this in 2022 after already having a Z9, but Z9 isn't this camera regarding high iso's and it'll pair pretty well with my D850, which made me want the D5 a year and a half ago when I bought the D850.

I have 2 D5s and Z9 now. For the type of shooting I do most, I am set.

I recently sold both my D500s and a low mileage D4s... haven't looked back. The D5 just works day in and day out, very solid performer and feels great in your hand.

You can use CFExpress Bs in it if you get the latest firmware. The 2 extra Group Area AF modes it has are similar to the Z9's W-C1/C2s.

I'm in for a D5. Hopefully it's in good condition with lowish shutter count. I heard that Nikon refurbished doesn't mean it's in new condition with low shutter count. Adorama and B&H seem to do better with the refurbs.

Nikon gives $2400 for a Nikon D5 XQD through their trade in program if you are buying a new Z camera.

Someone forgot to update that!

I'm assuming it's a fat stack of barely used ones that Nikon wanted to fire sale because as weird as the price was it would cost more to sell beat up ones since I'm pretty sure people would send them back.

Like the refurbished D4S's are like way more than the D5's, there's something weird there. Probably harder to get the D4S chassis, they can't blow out the D6 and I highly doubt they sold every D5 made so who knows. Like as I said, I was told about this probably before noon and thought it was like one of those Amazon Black Friday pricing glitches. Probably just clearing inventory space and not Nikon trying to scam their user base.
