I recently purchased this lens for portraits and weddings. It's an absolute bargain too!

Love it! Beautiful composition!
I used my 135 on my old film bodies and it was my best lens!

Great shot. 135mm is one of my favorites for portraits. I use the f/2.8 SF version, and it's excellent.
Just curious, but what sort of bargain did you get on it? The f/2L isn't exactly a cheap lens.

I purchased this for $575 LNIB here at FM. A new lens costs $999 and still a bargain compared to RF lenses. The RF lenses are great, but don't have the same character imo. Technically better, but not aesthetically better. Subjective of course, but I sold my RF 50mm f/1.2 after I shot the EF version. However, I do like the RF 28-70 f/2. I used one for a wedding and was impressed with the pics.

Wow, that is a great deal. I'd have likely bought one for that price over the f/2.8 SF version, but I'm still very happy with mine.

Thank you for the comment.
I originally switched from Nikon because of f/1.2 lenses, but really like the colors more than any other camera.

I understand it is very personal talking about "colors" but I still want to add that the old Nikon D700 was(is) producing amazing colors. I'm actually going to buy one just because of that. IMO it is best ever Nikon camera for portraiture...

Looks great! I struggled with this lens and 1DXII, photos come out soft.

Also, the DF is sought after for its colors too. Very film-like.

I like that image, too !

Well, the Df has the same sensor as the D4(s), who is also getting praised for its output, but has none of the drawbacks of the Df (slow autofocus, poor interface, only one card slot, poor endurance - for a DSLR, anyway - and of course very small and no battery grip).

About the EF 135mm f2, yes that was a great lens, but I really cant complain on Nikon either. I own the AF 105mm f2 DC and AF 180mm f2.8, both are gems. I also own a Zeiss APO Sonnar 135mm f2, but its kind of hard to focus.

Very nice! That's a good balance between natural rim light and your flash key light.

You got a good deal. I bought my 135L here at FM as well. It was just as the seller described. Now that I've moved to Fuji, I use it with my X-H1. It is similar to shooting FF with a 200mm f2.8. I still have a nice shallow DOF when I want it along with the lovely bokeh the 135L is known for.

Great shot. I also love this lens and use it a lot on my R5 for high school basketball as well as portraits.

So true about technically better does not necessarily mean a better image. I shoot Sony now, but one lens I'll never part with is the 135L. It's just special.

One of my dream lenses. Have to agree with you on the character of the RF 50 1.2 vs the EF 50 1.2. Maybe we're biased because we spent so much time lusting after and idolizing the character of these "old" primes. Maybe we're just old...
