Wow. It might be cheaper to fly to Singapore and buy a 600mm f/4 FL than to buy one here!
Actually you are not the first to have this thought. Many people from surrounding countries, Indonesia, India, Philippines, as far as the Middle East, Europe and even Russia are coming by the plane loads (commercial airliners as tourists), if not by the ship loads (naval ships) to come to shop for whatever they are looking for. Indonesians, Philippinnos for everything, the Middle Eastern and Europeans for electronics especially the British, Russians for cameras and iPhones, and the Indians for GOLD. How do I know if they are coming by planes or ships? Those by ships were still wearing their navel uniforms and were given a couple of hours to shop before being shipped out again. Those by planes are busy reclaiming their goods and services tax refunds at the airport counters before departures. And me enjoying the views of them carrying their arm loads if not cart loads of goods and telling their counterparts how many they bought and how much they safe from buying here instead of home. For Indians at the airport tax refund counters producing their purchase receipts and digging out all their gold bracelets, chains as thick as dog chains one puts on their pets, and of course gold coins, nuggets and little bars. What was going through my mind is how they get through their own customs when they get home? Someone must be enjoying just as much or even more with CASH!
