These are my first ever astrophotography attempts, minus a little practicing in my heavily light polluted back yard. I understand these types of photos are greatly enhanced by using an attractive foreground. But, as this was my first time out, I was just trying to get the astro part of this fairly correct and will work on introducing a foreground/subject next time.
Equipment used was a Canon 5D3 with the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 lens and an intervalometer (and tripod, of course).
1. Milky Way photo was 3 images stacked in Sequator then edited in Lightroom. Settings were f/2.8; 30secs; iso6400.
** I intended to use a 10 shot stack, but shots 4-10 showed obvious blur from condensation on lens.
2. Star trail shot is 100 images stacked using StarStax then edited in Lightroom. Settings were f/2.8, 30secs; iso3200.
** This was taken about 90 minutes before the MWay shot and thankfully the condensation had not begun yet, so all 100 were useable.
Any comments welcome. I'm a newb and thankful for all the help I can get!
