p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Location, Location, Location

Though I shoot a lot of studio, I prefer to shoot locations when I have the time. Some outdoor shots are just quick and dirty to make a shoot easy, maybe a quick trip to the local park. Others are carefully planned by the seasons or access to a location.
Ideally I like an unusual location that's strong on it's own but can be carefully overpowered by the subject/model.
To that end I offer 3 locations that I feel are strong by themselves and have added to my subject, not the subject adding to the location.
Let me know what you think?!
John

1, On The Tracks

2, Guitar World

3, Hay Bales

Boy John, I have lived by the rails, am a bass player for 60 years and have thrown many a bale of hay...never had the enjoyment of an encounter with these beautiful women.
I really like your 1st one! Unique and a great location. She would stop any train!
Watch her bra strap indentation in #1.
Great work!!

I enjoy all three of these images because they avoid the clichés with unusual perspectives. Well done.

Posing anyone on active railroad tracks is irresponsible and has, on several occasions, been deadly. I think it is important to mention this in order to possibly prevent a future disaster. There are many articles in film and photography circles that talk about this. You don't always see or hear the train coming in time.

Dan thanks so much. I'm glad you can appreciate a unique location.
The most fun of them was the Guitar World location. I had gone there the day before to buy some gels and I liked the props. So talked to the manager and he said come on by and shoot, so I did. It was hilarious. Not me but she had all these glazed eyed little guitar guys sorta just following her around. They were trying to make it look not to obvious! LoL
It was a pretty big place and no matter what side of the sore we were on, everyone in there was trying a guitar pretty close by.
It was fun!!! And she of course is pretty stunning, not what you usually find in a guitar store!!!

The train-stopper #1 for me. Even more impressive is Dan's keen eye (bra indentation) 🤣.

Elliot, thanks for the reminding us all of the dangers of shooting on tracks. We need to always be cognizant of our shooting locations whether they are on tracks, busy streets, bad parts of town, water or heights etc.
Thanks again and thanks for looking.

Derek, thanks for enjoying my images! Even when shooting a familiar scene or subject we need to strive to present it in a new way. As they say, "every thing under the sun has been done. Our job is to make even a tired scene pop in a new way!
Thanks again!!

Rajan, thanks for signaling out the track shot. I put it first because I though it was engaging. But lets not forget, as was pointed out, that tracks can be dangerous!
And that Dan, no way we can get anything past that eagle eye of Dan's!!! LoL

Love all of your environmental portraits, but number one is a show stopper! It is so unexpected and brilliantly executed! Super work, John!

David, thanks so much for the vote of confidence! I have a few very nice track shots. I also have a train tunnel I'm gonna shoot when the weather gets warmer!
Thanks!!!

Iamkuni, thanks so much for looking and taking the time to comment
Incidentally a hay shot like this is difficult to get in my area. A contractor is hired to cut and stack so most hay is cut and stacked on the same day. I had been trying to get that shot for a few years!! LoL
