I didn't get my 800mmpf yet and I don't like to use expensive lense without protection. I bought self adhering camo tape in the meantime, I didn't think they would come out with it so fast since they didn't have the 400mm z lense cover out.

Never been a fan of lens coat. Their products rip too easily after few months.

There is a better company in UK. Better products and at cheaper price as well. Shipment is fast too. Not sure if they have covers for these two lenses yet though

Also, LensCoat may just put the date as a place holder, time will tell!

I know they do rip off but it does the job. I also like the different camo pattern they have.

I'd wait for RolanPro or go with OPG as linked earlier. Don't need no fraying LensCoat covers when better options are out there and probably for less $$.

I've switched all my LensCoats out for RolanPro. As have all my friends

I don't like the camo of the rolandpro. I didn't have much problem with the lenscoat I had on my 600mm fl. Kept it for 5 years on my lense and still look really good. Rollandpro do make good lense cover, better made (stitching then lenscoat)

I don't either but I saw someone not too long ago with one on a Sony 600 and it looked great! Problem is I don't see any new Z lens stuff but then again their website leaves a lot to be desired and they are more expensive in US dollars it seems. I'll wait for LenCcoat and put a tiny dab of glue on the frayed part and stitching as needed.

Another alternative, I have a Huga Nature lenscover for my 500PF. They are a Polish company I believe?
I've been very happy with the lenscover...

I'm hoping they make one for my 800PF eventually!

I have found that the Lenscoat covers interfere with my handling and use of a large lens. With a black Nikon lens there is much less to gain than with a white Canon lens.

Might have to get a lenscoat brand cover/wrap for my 800PF when it arrives. Though Lenscoat brand are actually awful. They fray and look horrendous in about 6 months because they refuse to stitch the edges to reinforce them.

The only brand for me is RolanPro. I emailed them asking if they had plans to make a cover for the Nikon 800mm PF and the reply I got was "we don't take requests"

Umm, yeah they do as I know the person who requested them to make one for the 500PF lens. AND I didn't request anything just asked if it was in the plans to be made.

So hopefully RolanPro will make it. The Lenscoat brand is unfortunately my fall back

Is there any weight difference between RolanPro and lenscoat? I just got RolanPro for my sony 600mm f/4. Interestingly it "feels" heavier. But I can't be sure since I don't have lenscoat for my 600mm for side-by-side comparison. Wondering whether i should order one as the last thing I want to do is to increase the weight of my lens more than I have to.

I'm not sure. I could see the RolanPro maybe being slightly heavier due to the thicker fabric it is made from but I don't have two to compare.

I suspect the brevity may have been associated with the response coming from someones whose native language is something other than English.

Yeah i sent an email last Thursday and Friday asking if they had planned to make one for the Nikon 800PF lens... i got the response "don't take requests" which wasn't even what i asked.
