I'm not much of a birder - don't have the patience to sit in a blind or cary the big glass on hikes. This series was pure serendipity that fell into my lap.
This eagle was perched chowing down on a big hunk of something (scavenged deer?) right at the entrance to the most popular beach in Olympic NP. I stood behind a big driftwood log and shot a few with my Sony A7rII + 24-105mm. Closest I've gotten to an eagle, it was the highlight of a 10 day trip.
I really like these images Jim. I vacationed at Olympic NP last year and didn't have quite the luck that you did. The environment really adds something special to the shots.
