I was hoping to get a nice "twofer" when I took this shot but I didn't have enough depth to get the blue, so I was going to delete this image.
But then upon closer inspection I realized I actually got a "fourfer" in this one image, so it didn't go to the trash bin after all.

As luck would have it, I had my first opportunity to capture this rare (to our area) Sora and I screwed it up.

This little guy had been spotted in a local marsh area and I was fortunate enough to be there yesterday morning when he popped out from the marsh for all of 4-5 seconds. So I at least got to see him briefly and managed to get these two not so great shots of him before he disappeared back into the marsh.

Gonna try to catch him in the morning but this time I'll have proper settings and will NOT be shooting 1000mm as he appeared way to close.

Nice catch, 40+ years ago we would just try to hear a sora on our annual bird count in massachusetts.
We would try to see or hear 100 species in one day. Lots of fun and actually did it one year.
