Here is one of the first photos shot with my new Nikon 500mm PF. Light was fading fast and I was already at ISO 800 and handholding at 1/200th sec. This wren popped up right in front of this gorgeous backlight and to keep everything exposed properly I took the shot. Could have raised the shutter speed and increased ISO to compensate, but I was surprised by how well the VR did at 1/200th.
The orange light in the background is actually fading sunlight falling onto an orange-painted chimney.
Dave - Karl said what I was thinking, The glow in the background could not have been better. Great job in positioning yourself to bring the Wren and the background together to create this beautiful image.
