I have continued to work on the photographs I brought back from my late-January visit to Death Valley since posting Winter in Death Valley and Winter in Death Valley II. Here are a few more photographs. (I did share some of them as a comment in one of those earlier threads, but they may have gotten lost there.)

I think that is almost certainly the end of the photographs from this trip, but I'll be heading back there in a month or so for Spring in Death Valley!

Nice series. #2 is my favorite. Too many photographers seem to reach for front to back sharpness. I like the way you have controlled depth of field and allowed the background to go a bit soft.

Thank you for posting this Death Valley series, Dan. I have always enjoyed your work, but I am now looking very closely at how you compose your images. Your compositions always seem to be clean and simple, focusing on a central element. And your work with light is impeccable! True "fine art"!

Compositionally, I usually feel that less is more — though there can be exceptions.
