This is another image of the bear that surprised me from behind so did not have time to retreat to a safe distance . I thought it was better to just stand still and let it move by. It did not give any indication of interest in me and walked right by into the Kinak river.

Great image .. I'd be shaking too much for a clear picture, even with IBIS, etc ...

great shot indeed.
it appears to be taking a good sniff though perhaps wondering how good/bad you might taste

if i were you i know what i'd ask for my next b-day/x-mas present...a hat with a set of eyeballs stitched on the back.
