A nostalgic shot...the first arch I saw during my first visit to Arches 5 years ago. This time I got to share it with my son. Everything came together during sunset...a clear sky and view of the La Sal, a rising crescent moon, amazing light on the field between Broken and Sand Dune arches...and a timely bird capping the formation to the left of the arch.
I'm sure my son didn't appreciate the scene as much as I did...but this park...and this arch were the reason I started down the path of landscape photography, and it was amazing to be back with 5 years of practice and knowledge to try to do it all again.
