So far, my only Nikon Z is the Zfc.

TTArtisans:
17mm f/1.4 (Z mount)

Nikon:
20mm f/2.8 Ai-S
28mm f/2.8 Ai-S
50mm f/1.2 Ai-S
85mm f/1.4 Ai-S

I just got a Zhongyi Speedbooster; I alternate that with a K&F plain F-to-Z adapter. I haven't had the speedbooster very long, but it definitely seems to do better with the wider angle lenses; especially the 50mm f/1.2 goes from dreamy wide-open without it to having spherochromatism competing with veiling flare to be the hottest of the messes. Then again, if you consider that a speedbooster gains you a stop of light, it's basically a 40-year-old Nikkor that is super sharp at f/2 but has just the right softness for portraits at f/1.2, pushed another stop with an inexpensive Chinese reverse teleconverter with inconsistent tolerances to f/0.95. I do intend to try this combo for very low light event photography where I think it will lead to some interesting effects.

That said, I wanted it mostly to get most of the crop factor back when used on the Zfc. An additional benefit (at least for me) is that, while it increases the total weight of the setup, it shifts the center of mass back toward the camera body. While this doesn't solve the aesthetic issues of the "long snout" of F lenses on the Zfc, it makes it handle more comfortably, at least in my small hands. Note that I always use the Smallrig grip; with the Speedbooster, it doesn't feel like it wants to "droop" nose-down like it does with a heavier lens like the 50mm f/1.2 + the K&F adapter. This would likely not be near as much of a factor on a camera with a more ergonomic grip like the Z50, but I'll admit that when it comes to the Zfc, I'm willing to suffer for fashion. But the combination of the more balanced mass distribution and the mostly fully-restored angle of view are easily worth the $149, especially considering it also can control the aperture of G-lenses, though those are rendered manual focus on this speedbooster.

I've not done any kind of formal review or optical testing, but considering the value of this speedbooster combined with a lack of reviews for the Z-mount version, I might do some once I can get some decent daylight after work on a weekday.

Does the 85/1.4D count? Thinking of getting a 400mm or longer of some sort.

All my MFNG's work great with the Z6II. Namely: 20 3.5 UD, 28 2.8 AIS, and 105 2.5 AI. But my current fave is the Nikkor-S 5.8cm 1.4. Can't believe such an old lens is THIS sharp and renders great bokeh. Plus it looks badass with the Z6II.

Lots of manual Nikkors on the Z6, including F-mount, S-mount and LTM. For F-mount I have used the FTZ and a couple of other generic ones. I also have a Fotasy adapter for LTM lenses, and some generic one for the S rangefinder mount.

Same here, usually 16/3.5 ai, 20 3.5UD, 28/2 ais but also 105/2.5 PC, 55/1.2 pre-ai, 85/1.8, 180/2.8ED ais. On a Z6ii

I have 2 adapters, the FTZ and a K&F Concept. I mention this because my 20mm UD will not mount on the FTZ, and the 16/3.5 fisheye won't mount on the K&F.

Check out the MF thread, loads of examples there.

The 105/2.5 AI-S is a very nice little lens on the Z7. Assuming you nail focus, but for anything static in terms of distance to the camera that's pretty easy. The TTArtisan 11/2.8 Fisheye runs circles around any Nikon offering (I have both the 16mm D and 11mm DX). And the 200/4 Micro can't AF on a Z body, so is effectively manual focus - that one is a "from my cold dead hands" item...

Will Non-AI lenses work on Nikon Z with FTZ adapter?
