It's a feature, not a bug, according to the Parabolix guy (to mimic Briese instead of Broncolor)

. In the end though, I don't know if that matters a whole lot given the results so far, except for that catchlight. I have a simple work around for that as well to get just the ring light effect. It's crazy that this is the first quality comparison of these two modifiers. For more than $2k, you are paying for a better mechanical system, possibly better customer service, and a wider recognition

OK. I can't say I've seen 100% crops of catchlights from images made with Briese lights.

I agree it's probably splitting hairs, I imagine it's just a matter of putting some cinefoil, or similar, in the center to kill the hotspot.

Sorry, I didn't see this sooner.

It's currently a low priority purchase. I need to update computer and camera equipment before I get around to more lighting modifiers. But I would still like to try one.

I' m still in "investigating/learning" mode :-); reading and learning about studio lighting (especially user reports). I've ordered an Eizo monitor and maybe I' ll change from my 2019 iMac to Mac Studio as well (but first I' ll try a 2 screen setup; Eizo and iMac). Lucky I have camera and lenses all set.
Still I might order a Parabolix 45 as well. Going to be an expensive year.

Correct. What about the Paras? Did you fulfill that dream already?

Is there a way to download and/or see all the images you show in your comparison video? Much easier to judge differences then. Thank you.
