Since Sony has MAP pricing, these deals should be available to every one from any authorized dealer.

The real outlier discount here is the 24-70GM at $400 off. I don't recall it ever being discounted that much. Is that my imagination or might this be a tell tale sign that the 24-70GMII is soon to be announced? Sony was offering the A7RIV at an insane $2200 right before announcing the "a" version.

Yes, the EDU pricing is lower. Here is the Sony A7R IIIa for example:

Is it worth getting the A7r iv or wait for the a7 iv. I know the A7r is a more difficult camera because of the mp and certain lenses not being as great with it, but they are about the same price.

I don't think so, as EDU price are linked with your login account, but when we give the same link the other delear may not see the discount price.

Depends on how long you're willing to wait for A7IV availability and 1) whether you're a hybrid photo/video shooter and 2) whether you primarily shoot landscapes. If the answer to those are no and yes, it doesn't get much better than the A7RIV at the moment. If your answers are yes and no, then the A7IV would likely suit your needs better.

But also keep in mind, the RIII was announced in October '17 and released in November '17. The RIV was announced in July '19 and released in September '19. The A9II was released in November '19. There is reason to think that 2022 may see an announcement of the A9III and A7RV, which would likely incorporate Sony's new menu system and perhaps an improved AF. The release of both of those in the coming year will likely drive A9II prices down to what A9 prices were at prior to it being discontinued, so around $2800-3k, while the A7RIVa prices will likely fall to close to where the RIIIa prices are currently. Such is the nature of things.

*Edited to add: The A7RIII is also still a very, very capable camera, so if landscapes is your thing and you don't need the crop mode for birds, or the animal eye AF, etc, the A7RIII is still one of the best values on the market. My wife loves hers.

There's a thread:

https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1724955/0

I got a chance to play with the A7IV last week, and I'm going with that. I admit the A7rIVa is tempting at this price though. I don't need the 61MP or pixel shift, but I kind of want it. The move from tilt to flip screen is a dealbreaker for some, but it's a wash for me. I couldn't really see the difference in the EVF resolution. Ultimately though, I think I'll appreciate the A7IV's better AF, video, and various usability improvements (menus, touchscreen). I assume it may have more longevity in updates with the XR processor also.

My dad co-purchased a country club in 1980. That's where I began arborist and landscape design career. Decades later that led to an invite by scientists to measure coast redwoods. That led to crude snapshots that evolved into redwood prints, portraits, redwood weddings and later other weddings. My photography interest was a series of events that began as a greenskeeper and interim superintendent.

And right now, the seasonal deal I jumped on was the Flashpoint XPLOR HSS for $349.00 at Adorama.

I had one 600 XPLOR already .. the recent purchase became a second ... and I may buy a third at this price

But a portable 600ws with HSS and control from 1/1 to 1/256 is affordable luxury. The one I ordered about a week ago came with a free GLOW EZ 48 inch softbox ... bundled for $349.00

Various Peak Design products went on sale here. I'll probably end up picking up the Camera Clip myself.

That is an unbelievable price for the bundle!! I have two plus one Pro version. You just canít beat these powerful strobes for those of us that shoot a lot of HSS. I use the Pro a lot due to the stronger modeling light and highly recommend it for lower light situations.
