Today the first pair of Whooping Cranes arrived at Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in south Texas, This one is doing a mating dance, About 500 cranes will arrive by end of November and spend the winter here.

Nice shot - This is so cool. I want to go there one day to see these magnificent birds.
Do you have to get on a boat to get these shots or is there space on land that gives you these views ?

Captain Tommy Moore takes a birding tour boat out every day. It is only way to get close to birds. We saw and ID’ed 40 different birds yesterday. It is a 3-hr drive from Austin. Stay at Lighthouse Inn...walking distance to harbor and Captain Tommy’s boat
