Im taking a chance on it, I know I read a lot of copy variation on it. Hoping its good if not than im going to make that adjustment on the 11-20 . Ill see what happens here but this lens looks pretty nice

I think you'll like the lens. Amazing little performer.

(and I've got the 11-20mm coming shortly. I tried the Samyang 12mm ƒ2, but it's just not doing it for me.)

Matt looking nice. I watched DA review it does sound promising. Not sure the Sony is worth its amount of money. Only thing I would have liked was a AF/MF switch but I have on my ZV-10 center press button that might work just fine.

BTW folks I did hook my ZV-10 to my Wescott strobes and the works nice. Off topic but thought id mention it

Just curious what your not liking about the Samyang 12mm?

I really wanted it to work, as I love the form-factor. Comparing it to old shots taken with the Sony 10-18mm or the 12mm Touit, it just doesn't hold up. I probably expected too much for its modest price.

While the Samyang 12mm is quite sharp in the center, the edges don't really get decent until ƒ6.3 or so. And the background rendering at wider apertures is super-busy and just odd. Here's a crop to show what I mean.

So I got this lens yesterday but have not had a chance to use it yet except I did run a test in my kitchen on fixing the distortion with Capture One. I dont use any other raw converter and never have. Been a C1 user since day one but I have no profile for this lens yet. So here the first one is straight on with no distortion correction. I HATE distortion lets make that clear.

The second image is the distortion correction. Basically I moved the distortion slider to max at 120 and being very level with camera it actually did a good job. I could bring it in Photoshop and correct slightly more but just want something simple. This shot was at 18mm with my new ZV-10 which im kinda liking. I wanted a little travel cam so I did not have to bring out my A9II

Im going to test this more along with the Sony 10-18 which im not sure ill keep the lens but going to test it first otherwise I may get the Tamron 11-20. Also want to test this ZV10 as well. On one of my big gigs I have 2 shooters at the same time shooting a Red Carpet deal. This is where I will park my A9II and use two of these ZV10. I rented one and bought one

Does the lens have a manufacturer profile? The built in distortion correction

I remember I could toggle that for the tamron g2 to get fixed

It does but it’s not doing anything since C1 needs that profile built in to the program. At the moment iti is not. Maybe next update
