We went hiking to the White Mountain National Forest this weekend. It turned out, fall color was very much at peak in New Hampshire. It was crowded as expected, but the area is so big, and depending on the trail you choose, it gets far easier. Popular trailheads parkings were pretty full though.

Nice colors! They've been hit and miss here in the Southern Adirondacks. Definitely and off year.

Thank you. First time I was at White Mountain during fall, almost 10 years ago, I though that was amazing, but in comparison to this year, in retrospect it was not as good as this year. Since all NE region had similar summer, I sort of assumed it would be good in the Adironcks roo. May be this weekend ?

Thank you. It was a reward to get to the viewpoint and be greeted with the golden foliage sloping up towards the Presidential range.

Well, beauty is everywhere. I am gelous of the stark contrast of rugged rocky terrain and trees that Western US has. At the same time, I am very fond of the beauty of the four seasons of the NE region.

Thank you for your comment. You are right, on my phone’s screen , it can look like a flower field. It is a stunning place and I am grateful we got the peak which doesn’t always work out that way.
