Wow this is wonderful - such a lush and thick jungle. Amazing how well cared for the temple grounds are in the middle of nowhere!!

Nice images. Sharp contrast between the natural landscape and the man-made temple grounds. Both are beautiful.

Max - the 'care' of the grounds is relatively recent now that the site has become a tourist attraction.

Thank you. The drone has certainly added to the photographer's armoury and if used judiciously, provides delicious perspectives.

These Indian monuments continue to amaze me. How some of them are made still boggles the mind since I don't think we can even make such structures today let alone make them last for as long as they have.

Beautiful photos Rajan. I've never used a drone. Curious, what kind of drone do you use? Is it hard to master using a drone, ie getting the right height and angle and lining up the shot?

You make a very good observation. We can only weep when we see something like this - the feeling, the emotional intensity, and the devotion to conceive and construct these masterpieces. I cannot see modern Indians building anything of this kind today. More generally around the world, we see a decline in aesthetic sensibility in the architectural arena.

Thank you, Steve.

I now use the DJI Phantom 4 Pro, version 2 drone. It has a surprisingly good camera capability with a 20MP 1" sensor and a mechanical shutter. But DJI now seems to have placed more of its focus on the highly popular Mavic line, which is a very portable piece of equipment. (The above image was taken with a DJI Phantom 4 drone, the first of the Phantom 4 line.)

If you are thinking about getting into drone photography, I suggest you look at the Mavics. It is easy enough to get started, and like any other activity, the more you do it the better you get at it. Of course, it isn't going to be of much use (*) to your kind of photography on the streets of NYC.

* You never know, maybe you'll find novel ways to do street with a drone.
